Beekeeper in Alicante: El Serralet, apitourism, and connecting with nature

At El Serralet, our passion for beekeeping and environmental education has led us to expand our apitourism activities to the province of Alicante. As in Valencia, in Alicante we focus on providing memorable experiences that allow our visitors to discover the work of a beekeeper in Alicante and the importance of bees in the balance of the ecosystem. In this article, we want to share with you two fundamental aspects of our activity in the Alicante region. It is essential to highlight that a beekeeper in Alicante plays a vital role in protecting the environment. Bees act as pollinators, which are essential for plant reproduction, directly influencing food production. In fact, studies indicate that approximately 70% of crops worldwide depend on pollination by these tireless insects. Through our apitourism excursions, we show how beekeeping in Alicante contributes to maintaining the biodiversity of the area’s flora and fauna.

It is a tour designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, learning and experiencing the activity in a comfortable and safe manner.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, you can bring your pet. During the activity, it will stay on our premises, where it will remain calm while you visit the apiary. For safety reasons, pets are not allowed in the hive area, as there are no protective suits for animals and it could be dangerous for them.

However, children and adults of any age can accompany the activity from our little house near the apiary, a safe space with adequate distance, even if they do not visit the hives.

How should I go or what should I bring?

We recommend wearing closed-toe trainers (boots are best) and comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. We provide all the necessary equipment for the experience (protective suit, gloves and other gear). Just bring your enthusiasm and a desire to learn.
